I will turn 39 years old this summer, and that doesn't scare me.
It does still come as a shock when I think about my age though, because my mind still feels like I'm invincible and 18 years old!
Yet there are many, many things I can see more clearly now compared to when I really was 18!
And I wouldn't go back to being 18 again.
The longer I live, the more I enjoy each season of life.
Each season is different.
We are coming to the close of the winter season, at least here in Ohio.
Which means spring is right around the corner.
Spring is a different season from winter.
It's no longer time for things to rest and hibernate and slow down.
Things speed up.
There's more sunshine.
The days are longer.
Flowers begin to spring out of the ground.
Birds sing all day long.
I feel happier!
It's a new season.
I have experienced different seasons as a parent.
The "honeymoon phase" of being a parent lasted 3 years for me!
I had no issues helping in the middle of the night, calming a screaming baby, changing the diapers, having huge biceps from carrying the carseat everywhere!
But that season came to end...before all of the diapers and screaming did, but I've worked through that!!!
Then the potty-training phase, having to clean up the floor and the toilet because they just.simply.missed!
That season has passed as well, thankfully!
For three of our kids, I no longer have to follow them to the bathroom to help in any regard, which is good since they go to school and use the facilities on their own!
But our last one. No, he's still wanting help and attention.
But hear me: it's ok! I am ok with it, because he still needs me.
It's simply still that season of life for him, and therefore, for me!
If I fought against him and decided to not follow him or help him, it would make this season a whole lot worse for me!
There would be a lot more cleanup too!
But when I don't fight against what this season of life requires of me, I follow along and step fully into what's required.
----
What does this season require of you?!
For real!
Ask yourself that question.
What does this season (not last season or next season) require of you right now?
When you can pinpoint those requirements, you now know your role for this season.
You can step fully into it and get after it, because you know what's required.

I had some conversations recently with some friends who helped me realize even more what God has created me to do.
Those conversations were clarifying for me.
They reminded me of what I was not good at, because God did not wire me that way.
They reminded me of what I was good at, because God did wire me that way!
When I look at the gifts I have, and I look at the gifts I do not have, it narrows the requirements for me to know what I need to be doing.
Do you see it?!
All right.
Ask yourself those questions.
Answer those questions.
Then get to work on what's required, right now.

This is one way you can begin to Think Better.
As you cheer doing the Super Bowl this weekend, consider these thoughts.
