Habits = Lifestyle

Habits create who you are. Whoa! Read that again. Habits create who you are. What we do over and over, creates who we are. How we think. What we eat. How we act. How we react. Our habits create who we are. Which means our habits create who we will become tomorrow and in 10 years. That puts a lot of pressure on our habits. The good news is that we get to decide what habits we want to have.

It's a matter of choice, of being intentional, of choosing to live life by design and not by default, as some say. That's amazing news! We have the opportunity to choose how we live our lives. Sometimes we don't feel that way. Sometimes we feel like we are just living by default, on autopilot almost. And it's not that fulfilling or exciting. We know there is something more that we could be experiencing in life. I believe it's possible for you to make that choice. And the make that choice again. And again. And again. To the extent that it becomes a lifestyle of living life on purpose, by design. How would that change things?!

I have been practicing this on purpose for a number of years, and I took it to another level last year. I have a habit of intentionally thinking about what I want to accomplish on purpose every day. Sometimes those things are in business. Sometimes those things are in family. Sometimes those things are in my faith. Self-reflection before action, toward the things that matter to me.

I want to share a few of the things that have helped me get to this point. Now, I'm not done experimenting and trying new things, but these things have been serving me for a while now. I have no intent of changing them up yet, so that's why I recommend them to you now. 1: Oola Framework - There is a lot of learning and online education that this provides, but their app has been the biggest tool for me to develop the habit of being consistent on what's important. There's a 7 day free trial so you can try it out for a week and see how it can serve you in being intentional with your habits too.

2: 23 Strong - I am drawn to challenges! This is a 23 day challenge, and there are 7 different phases (sets of 23 days) to this challenge. I'm partway through the 2nd phase right now, and I am loving the habit of reading and breathing every single day. This second phase is having me choose to stick to a diet as well, which makes me feel great again too. My goal is to complete all 7 phases within one year. I have not had to restart either phase yet, so that's been a plus! It's just over $1/day if you aren't subscribed to the Oola framework yet.

3: Ningxia Red - This drink has been a huge boost in my health for a number of years now. Just 2 ounces a day is all I need to support my energy and mental clarity. It also helps my body sleep better at night.

4: Oils and Diffuser - We have a habit of putting essential oils in the diffuser every night before bed. I can tell a huge difference in my sleep on the nights I neglect to fill the diffuser. It's crazy! If you're wondering where to start, this is a really easy way to start. There are so many ways to use them, and we have the tools in place to teach you how to do that. I'll walk you through it, if you'd like too.

5: Oura Ring - Speaking of sleep, I had been interested in tracking my sleep for a long time. Then earlier this year, I was given a ring, and I've been tracking my sleep ever since. Sleep is something I prioritize as much as possible, except when it conflicts with being a good husband or dad! You can get one here, and save $50 with this link too.

If these serve you in some way, please do. If you love your habits right now, keep it up! I will support you being intentional and healthy no matter what that looks like, when it's in alignment with how God made you. So go live well. Honor God with your life. And if that means you need to get more intentional about a few things, make the change to create the new habit. You've got this!

LIVE LIFE ON PURPOSE!
